BIOGRAPHY I studied art and design at Norwich and Farnham and took a postgraduate course at the University of Reading. For some years I was head of art in a private school. Since 1999 I have been a professional artist living in Wales. I exhibit and work to commission. My home, in the small village of Friog, is a short, brisk walk from the sea, hills and woodland. These familiar places have been the focus of my work, but IRead More

BIOGRAPHY I grew up in France, but now live in an old farmhouse in Wales, along with my three sons and a cat. I paint in a little studio at home, where I sip tea and listen to French radio whilst I work. I enjoy drawing and painting, but when I was little I really wanted to be a writer and storyteller. I love playing with words, with paint and with lego, and reading books, especially in bed in theRead More

BIORGRAPHY I was born on St.Davids Day 1973 in Pontypool, South Wales. After gaining a degree in English at Swansea University, I returned to a childhood love of art, pursuing this alongside bringing up my young family. Painting soon became a passion, and has now become a full-time occupation. I regularly exhibit at galleries in Wales and Cornwall, and  had work selected for the Royal Cambrian Academy. Much of my inspiration comes directly from the places where I love toRead More

BIOGRAPHY I have been creating art for nearly twenty years since moving to Wales. The ever changing environment and landscape of Wales are a constant source of inspiration for my art, and I am particularly drawn to trees and how different they look in the four seasons throughout the year. I enjoy sketching in ink and watercolour when on location and then creating a painting using acrylic and mixed media techniques.

BIOGRAPHY I’m a contemporary artist working from studios in Aberystwyth’s Old College and Upper Swabia, southern Germany. I’m  inspired by vernacular architecture of the Celtic Fringes and like to tap into the special energy of place. From initial sketches in the open, I refine and rework images in the studio, creating work which is full of energy and tension. It celebrates the beauty and dignity of humble buildings. I enjoy collaging everyday objects into my paintings, there are often piecesRead More

BIOGRAPHY I grew up on a hill farm in Cardiganshire and an early interest in fishing and shooting kindled an interest in the wildlife and landscape around my childhood home near Aberystwyth. Inspired by the art of Sir Peter Scott and Charles Tunnicliffe, I started drawing and painting birds when I was 12. I decided to paint in watercolour, despite it being a challenging medium, because I like the way that it conveys atmosphere in elements of my work suchRead More

BIOGRAPHY I first exhibited paintings, mainly figurative oils in the early 1960’s.  The work at the time attempted to place industry into landscape- at that time there was no shortage of inspiration within south Wales.  From 1966 I changed direction making stoneware domestic pottery that was exhibited and sold through a wide range of galleries and craft shops throughout Wales and the Marches.  Following the onset of arthritis I had a brief flirtation with woodturning before illness curtailed any furtherRead More
