BIOGRAPHY
I’m originally from Llanrhystud, Ceredigion and was educated in Aberystwyth. I studied Art in Cardiff, Bristol and Trinity College, Carmarthen before working as an Art teacher in Buxton, Ystradgynlais and Aberystwyth and subsequently became the Art Education Officer in the National Museum, Cardiff. I won the crown in Pontrhydfendigaid Eisteddfod 1986 and published two volumes with Lolfa Press – ANNWYL ARHOLWR and ABER. My home is now in Tremadog, Gwynedd.
My work has developed from landscape inspired semi-abstracts to purely abstract, highly-textured images. I have exhibited widely in Wales and my work has been shown in The Albany Gallery, Cardiff; MOMA – Machynlleth; Festival Interceltique, L’Orient, Brittany; Waterfront Gallery, Milford Haven; Les Burridge Gallery, Cricieth; Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea; Craft in the Bay, Cardiff; Rob Piercy Gallery Porthmadog. Paintings can be seen regularly in the Kooywood Gallery, Cardiff; Oriel Tonnau, Pwllheli; Castle Gallery, Cricieth; and Oriel y Bont, Aberystwyth.
I am also a haiku poet. Some of my haiku are to be seen in Another Country/Anthology of Haiku Poetry from Wales, Gomer Press, 2011. A collection of my haiku and senryu ‘clymau tywod/knots of sand’ was published by Alba Publishing,2017.
